Grundfos is seeking an experienced Buyer. The Buyer will be responsible for addressing commercial issues during the validity period of an agreement while fulfilling tasks linked to the strategic sourcing process (STS) purchasing and/or supplier relationship management process (SRM). All activities are carried out with regards to local and regional categories & suppliers and/or a particular business segment characterized by low to medium business impact and/or low to medium complexity. This position will report directly to the Master Planner and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of the Fresno, CA facility.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Your main responsibilities:
 

• Draft and propose long term sourcing strategies.
• Execution of sourcing strategies by using the existing Purchasing Tools.
• Execution of supplier negotiations and carry out the tendering process (eRFI, RFQ’s and e-auctions).
• Propose supplier and negotiate overall purchase conditions.
• Review suppliers’ capacities and drive improvement initiatives.
• Regular follow up with suppliers on performance against target and agreed development activities.
• Optimize supplier portfolio while building up and increasing market knowledge.
• Ensure contract coverage and drive cost out initiatives.
   

Your background:

We imagine that you have:
 

• A bachelor’s degree in a supply chain discipline is preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of similar experience in Buying or Purchasing is required.
• Knowledge of closed looped manufacturing principles and MRP theory is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervisor and direction.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• Analytical aptitude with the ability to statistically analyze and interpret data.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Excel and Power BI.
• Advanced working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Proven ability to successfully lead/or facilitate process improvement teams.
