Description:
We are looking for a buyer for our client, a company specializing in material processing and manufacturing, involving the production and distribution of various construction and industrial materials.
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 4 years buying experience
- Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Oracle or ERP system knowledge a plus
- Minimum ability to travel (3 times a year)
- Excellent customer service skills
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand customer needs, refine product specifications, and manage product and service purchases, including sourcing, qualifying, and evaluating suppliers.
- Oversee the supply base by creating and managing contracts and blanket purchase orders in Oracle, facilitating the RFQ process, analyzing quotes, and negotiating contracts and payment terms.
- Resolve invoicing discrepancies, ensure supplier compliance with corporate and customer standards, and review performance indicators for cost reduction opportunities.
- Assist with complex contract negotiations, qualify and onboard new suppliers, support automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and perform other assigned duties.
