Business Manager

 

Description:

In this role, you will be engaged in the full spectrum of daily fund operations, presenting significant learning opportunities in all aspects of running a fund. You will play a critical role in enabling the fund’s core activities, helping with the initial setup and launch of the NYC office, and will have the unique opportunity to scale with the firm as an early employee. We are looking for a well- rounded individual who is excited to support multiple areas core to the fund:

 

Responsibilities:

Internal Operations

Support internal infrastructure including HR, IT, compliance, vendor management and internal systems. Oversee data quality and maintain mission critical databases.

 

Vendor Management & Finance

Work closely with vendors to ensure seamless operations. This may include working with our fund administrator, legal team, or outsourced CFO, among other third-party vendors. Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, annual audit, and other finance and tax activities.

 

Fund Documentation Oversight

Assist in the processing of transactions and related documentation. Review, complete, and track fund manager legal documentation, including subscription documents, non-disclosure agreements, and fund consents. Collaborate with legal and compliance vendors to ensure all documentation adheres to regulatory requirements.

 

Team Collaboration

Collaborate with a small team of three to enhance overall operational efficiency. Support team members in various operational tasks as needed. Help oversee the day-to-day office operations and act as the point of contact for office-related inquires and issues.

 

Process Improvement

Identify areas for process improvement and implement streamlined workflows. Continuously assess and enhance operational procedures.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience working in an operations department of a custodial bank, VC/PE fund, a fund administrator, a family office, or other financial institution involved in the Private Equity market.
  • Proven attention to detail, especially when juggling tasks and working under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Can-do mentality and an eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
