What you will do:
- Identify, conceptualize, qualify, and market growth projects ranging in size from $50 million to billions of dollars with similarly scaled EBITDA expectations all in support of the Enbridge GTM strategy.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and partners.
- Build appropriate marketing materials and market opportunities to prospective customers.
- Develop and manage open season processes where applicable.
- Conducts the direct negotiations with existing and prospective customers and gathers supporting department support throughout entire negotiation cycle for full due diligence activities. Act as negotiation lead with customers to secure commercial backstop of new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships while successfully building consensus on business development initiatives across several internal departments (including but not limited to – Regulatory, Legal, Engineering, System Planning, Project Development, Economic Evaluation, Marketing, Contracts, and Commercial Operations).
- Provide regular internal updates on business development initiatives to up to and including senior leaders
- Market development opportunities to prospective customers, developing and managing processes where applicable and negotiating terms with customers and partners
- Maintain working knowledge of commercial operations, customer and competitive landscape for Enbridge’s gas markets
- Supports the Senior Leader/People Leader, Business Development & Marketing in the development of strategic planning and initiatives, including discussions and presentations to senior management of the company including up to GTM Chief Commercial Officer
- Responsible to lead specific commercial aspects of our projects in execution including negotiation of interconnect agreements and management of those for our large projects
- Incremental (and existing) customer business generation through new expansion project development and execution including assisting in M&A strategy. Provide support for Mergers & Acquisition endeavors as required
Who you are:
You have:
- 10+ years of business development experience (other externally facing interaction and commercial relationship management experience will be considered) in addition to 2 years of interstate pipeline industry experience along with a university undergraduate degree
You can:
- Show a strong strategic and business mentality with the ability to translate industry insights to specific business development opportunities
- Handle stressful conditions associated with assignment time constraints
You are:
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
- A proven leader with strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
The following are considered assets:
- Understanding of North American gas markets with knowledge of Marcellus/Utica shales and New England markets
- Experience in project development or similar industrial environment
- Commercial operations, sales, or marketing experience
