The Business Development Representative Role
The Business Development Representative is assigned accounts identified by Qlik as commercial accounts in a territory either current customers or as target customers, with the highest potential future value in the market. The role is part of an account team, with the primary responsibility of generating a pipeline through leads and opportunities within the accounts.
What makes this role interesting?
- Outbound identification/development and inbound follow-up on of land and expand opportunities within assigned accounts
- Assigned to multiple sellers to support their accounts
- May be dedicated to a subset of accounts (e.g., Fed, Sled, OEM)
- Partner with the sales team to create relationships with existing customers, identifying their potential needs and assist in developing a business case
- Move solid leads through the funnel, connecting them to a salesperson, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls
- Maintain a pipeline of early-stage leads
Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
- Maintain activities and related data in CRM system (Salesforce)
- Perform regular follow-up calls or emails and facilitate communication with existing customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify new potential needs.
- Attend (where necessary) networking events, trade shows, webinars etc. to build relationships and generate leads
- Achieve goals by qualifying leads and identifying needs that can be addressed by Qlik products; passes lead to appropriate sales resources
- Incorporate feedback from the Demand Center leaders and sales team to review and revise qualification criteria over time
