Business Development Representative

 

Description:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an experienced professional in lead generation (“cold calling expert”) responsible for prospecting and generating qualified sales leads that convert to a completed meeting attended by the prospect and appropriate sales team member. The BDR will also contact select prospects who have responded to campaigns, marketing events, websites, and phone inquiries.
This is a temporary, contractor position of 20-30 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full time employee role. Compensation will be structured as base pay of $20-25/hour and commission.
What You’ll Do

Proactive Outbound Prospecting

  • Understand and articulate the available Teaching Channel product and solutions offerings in order to elicit initial client interest
  • Be an initial point of contact in generating leads, cold calling, prospecting/sourcing new business from the ground up.
  • Generate new opportunities with various-level contacts using a variety of creative approaches.
  • Make contact with the client company by making cold calls via phone/email paired strategies.
  • Assess the size, scope and appropriate sales contact for the opportunity.
  • Partner in developing and implementing plans and strategies with Sales Team.
  • Articulate the value proposition of the product and service to create viable prospects.

Inbound Lead Vetting

  • Contact select prospects who have responded to campaigns, marketing events, websites, and phone inquiries.
  • Determine if contact is buyer, where they are in the buying cycle with what potential solution.
  • Articulate the value proposition of the product and service to create viable prospects.

Activity Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of all prospecting and results activity in the CRM

Qualifications

  • Required: 3+ years of Sales and/or customer service experience required
  • Experience in outsourced K12 solutions preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or communications strongly preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Google suite and CRM a plus
  • Proven ability to successfully generate new sales leads and consistently achieve overall prospecting goals
  • Understanding how to leverage social media contacts into prospects a plus
