Description:
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) for ABB, you will be responsible for developing new business within new markets, as well as new and existing customers. You will provide technical support to the Regional Commercial team in the development of field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization and automation equipment and systems. In this role, you will identify and propose value-added service solutions to a broad range of Industrial customers.
Your responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, collaborating with product specialists and technical proposal managers to create tailored solutions for customers.
- Foster relationships with customers, communicating scope requirements to sourcing and operations for efficient order fulfillment, and collaborate with other ABB sales teams to target strategic customers.
- Manage existing customer relationships, ensuring incremental sales growth through regular sales calls and documenting competitors' activities to assess market dynamics.
- Review and influence customer specifications to ensure compliance and facilitate the development of equipment and service quotations.
- Deliver technical presentations to all levels of customer organizations and assist internal groups with special projects.
- Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for comprehensive project offerings and create high-quality, timely proposal documents.
- Take on technical leadership for Field Service proposals, including identifying on-site requirements, conducting job-site walks, and contributing to New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and the introduction of new services/products to enhance regional sales and profitability.
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with typical Power System major components, i.e. Transformers, MV/LV Switchgear, MCC’s, AC/DC Drives, Motors, Protective Relays, Instrumentation, PLC’s, Automation, etc.).
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time within the CO, NE, WY states region, some overnight travel required.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
