Simon & Schuster, a division of Paramount Global, is looking for a Partnership Development manager to help grow the highly successful Pimsleur language learning subscription business. The Partnership Development Manager will bring experience leading efforts to create lasting business partnerships to grow digital subscriptions.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of prospecting, negotiating, and executing partnership promotions to drive subscriber acquisition and value-added revenue streams to a subscription business. Experience with deal point negotiation, contracts, and offer set up/fulfillment. Experience in creating marketing partnerships to drive direct to consumer sales is key.
Responsibilities will include:
- Identify potential business partners in relevant verticals including language learning, travel, hospitality, ecommerce, digital publishing, and Ed tech, to successfully drive new language learning subscription sales.
- Work with Pimsleur management and S&S legal to negotiate partner contracts, deal points and sales metrics.
- Develop and track relevant KPIs including, click throughs and conversions to monitor partner performance.
- Contribute to forecasts and financial models regarding potential sales.
- Deliver upon projected new subscriptions starts quotas. Act as project lead, working with marketing, ecom, and development teams to execute subscription offers on partner sites and apps.
- Explore international expansion through either subscription partnerships or licensee opportunities.
- Identify and recommend potential partners to add value to the Pimsleur Language program product, for upsells, and added revenue streams.
Skills Required:
- 5 years in digital business development.
- Self-starter with a strong track record of developing or managing partnerships to drive sales.
- Experience with/understanding of subscription conversion funnels, Google Analytics and KPI reporting.
- Experience with A/B testing, digital campaign optimization and understanding of metrics that drive growth.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in remote locations.
- Ability to lead digital cross-functional team projects including marketing, developers, and product management.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Background in mobile app market, digital publishing, or paid content sales preferred.
- Interest in language learning a plus.
