Description:
Increase market penetration and develop networks/partnerships to grow the Division locally, regionally, and nationally. Work with DED Leadership to establish plans for business development with potential revenue opportunities with external organizations in the private and public sectors. Execute the business development plans and strategic initiatives across the state and nationally. Seek, identify, assess, sell, propose, coordinate, & manage projects to generate revenue for the Division. Results generating revenue of at least $1.5M annually. Ensure superior customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate leads & opportunities for potential new customer projects locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Work with DED Leaders in the areas of business development and marketing strategy for local, regional, and national execution to grow DED’s customer base, product offerings, and revenue.
- Develops relationships, partnerships, and alliances for future business opportunities with current and new companies and agencies in the region, state, and country.
- Maintain system of accurate customer contacts, records, and project status reports. Assist Division Business Unit Leaders with customer follow-up for additional DED business.
- Attend events, chamber and economic development board meetings, and other such events to network and meet potential new customers. Assist with coordination of sponsored events as needed.
- Follow up on incoming inquiries from the website, respond to customer inquiries via phone, participate in telemarketing efforts, and provide business development recommendations based on customer needs & trends.
- Conduct company assessments and identify company needs to sell organizational initiatives. \
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and five (5) or more years professional experience.
- Must possess exceptional communication/people skills, business acumen, and basic understanding of business operations processes.
