Key Responsibilities

  • Endorse and position PPG Water & Wastewater products within the market, across all segments and select distribution channels, to lead specification to achieve sales goals.
  • Identify Key Owner and Engineering Targets and sell the water and wastewater systems top down.
  • Report through a Matrix management structure for managing an organization through dual-reporting relationships, as opposed to a more traditional management reporting structure. It combines functional and product departments in a dual authority system.
  • Be a valued resource to customers and the commercial sales team by providing continued, outstanding service around product recommendation, application, and performance.
  • Use your industry expertise to stay in-tune to the market, customer and competition and take that data to develop your business plan and identify specification and sales opportunities for growth.
  • Balance travel, virtual meetings, and other communication methods to capture new customers and limit churn.
  • Use consultative sales skills to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities and capture and increasing share of customer’s wallet.
  • Work with commercial team to forecast revenue projections; prepare monthly reports and quarterly and annual BDM Zone reviews.
  • Promote business development projects and provides corrective measures with poor performing accounts.
  • Roll out all new products, equipment, programs, and partnerships to commercial sales team and support training.
  • Coordinate and work with the ESPM Team to drive specification position of all PPG PMC Water/Wastewater Products.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • At least 3 years of coatings sales experience is needed for success.
  • Experience in the coatings industry, such as protective coatings and water/wastewater coatings, is highly preferred.
  • Have a customer-centric approach that allows you to work collaboratively to sell, cultivate solutions and address issues.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and meet regular project deadlines
  • Technical ability to understand product data sheets, material safety data sheets, scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
