Description:
As a Business Development Associate, you will coordinate business development activities under the guidance of the Director of Development. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and manage activities related to identifying, pursuing, and capturing construction opportunities. This includes identifying potential leads through desktop research, managing the Salesforce CRM process, and collaborating with Estimating, Legal, Finance, and Marketing teams. Additionally, you will prepare messaging and collateral for client distribution, research competitors and potential partners, and support the development of presentations and memos for leadership.
Responsibilities/Functions:
- Desktop research to uncover opportunities (Gov Spend, Infralogic, Ibis World, owner websites, etc.)
- Attend conferences meet ups and industry days to gather information on opportunities
- Assist in maintaining relationships with relevant trade associations
- Attend meetings and create actionable summaries/memos
- Manage and track all opportunities and relationships on CRM, track progress and facilitate action/progress
- Preform primary and secondary research on competition/partners and map the construction market competitive landscape
- Develop internal presentations on project opportunities for senior management
- Coordinate internal review process and meetings
- Coordinate business development efforts like events, meetings, travel, dinners etc.
- Maintain company certifications and prequalifications for all relevant owners and elsewhere
- Assist project bidding process by collecting all necessary documentation, insurance and bonding required for Bid Submission
- Generate monthly reports on active pursuits and future opportunities
- Work with IT to develop changes in Salesforce CRM as needed Support Partner Due Diligence process and efforts
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of Business Development, Sales, Account Management experience
- Ability to work in a team environment with a sense of urgency to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to communicate efficiently in written and produce presentations
- Microsoft Suite capabilities (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
- Ability to travel to customer sites and regional offices as necessary (up to 10%).
