We’re looking for a Business Development Senior Associate for the OPIS Retail Fuels Division based in Rockville, MD with remote work flexibility. In this role, you will deliver value to our customers, our organization, and our team by:

• Acting in a product expert and support role for our growing suite of software and analytics products targeted to fuel retailers and other industry professionals, assisting our sales account executives by providing demos and product support throughout the trial and post-sale processes.
• Articulately explaining to customers with all levels of industry and technical knowledge how the OPIS methodology of collecting and handling data works.
• Focusing on acquiring new sources of data that can be utilized to improve our products and services.
• Identifying key problems and business challenges facing our customers and working to solve them by interfacing with product management and development teams to determine ways to enhance existing or build new products and reports.
• Periodically attending industry conferences and trade shows as well as client on-site visits in order to generate leads by providing demos of our products, network, develop relationships, and keep on top of current trends. You may need to travel up to 25%.
• Continuing the OPIS legacy of providing the highest-quality customer support in the industry.

In this role, you will be joining the OPIS Retail team, a high-growth division that is dedicated specifically to providing solutions for the retail fuel marketing industry, with exciting high-profile products coming to market soon. OPIS Retail team members work with fuel retailers and convenience store operators to provide data, software, and analytics that help them optimize their business operations and run more profitably and efficiently. You’ll also work with other industries that utilize OPIS data, such as connected cars and mobile app/web clients who display OPIS real-time retail fuel prices to consumers when it’s most critical to them – as they are looking to fill up their vehicles. And in a world where the reliance on fossil fuels is slowly diminishing as we look for cleaner and more sustainable energy options, OPIS is diversifying and future-proofing our business by expanding into clean energy, alternative fuels, and data and analytics for electric vehicles, while still providing world class data and products for the energy that moves us today.

Your expertise

You have

• A bachelor’s degree. Business, Marketing, or Communications degrees are a strong fit for this role.
• Prior experience of 1-2 years with customer support, sales, marketing, or a similar role.
• Fluency in English, with other languages desirable based on our global customer base.
• Data literacy, easily understanding how to interpret and analyze data to help our customers make the best-possible business decisions.
• Experience providing top-notch client support, helping to maintain OPIS’s reputation for industry-leading customer service.
• Flexibility in your schedule, with the occasional early-morning or late-evening meeting with clients and/or colleagues across the globe.
• Excellent technical acuity, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Azure DevOps, and Netsuite (or another CRM software). Proficiency with Google Workspace a plus.
