Description:

The New Business Development Officer will coordinate and lead complex proposal efforts across EGPAF’s country-based programs, at the global level, and support selected strategic and long-term initiatives across the New Business Development Team. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and growing EGPAF’s programs. They will support proposal design and management and will directly support growth of EGPAF’s organizational strategy. They will work as a key member of the New Business Development team to track, prepare, and submit concept papers and proposals for US Government (USAID and CDC) funding opportunities.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?

Capture Planning and Proposal Development – 75% LOE

  • Support efforts to gather and analyze intelligence regarding upcoming new business opportunities and prepare the Foundation to successfully respond to solicitations.
  • Analyze and lead the “go”/”no go” process for new funding opportunities across multiple funding sources.
  • Lead the proposal development process, from capture planning to proposal development and submission.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental proposal teams throughout the proposal planning and development process.
  • Contribute to and lead all aspects of proposal development including opportunity analysis, partner negotiations, recruitment, preparing supporting documents, writing sections of technical narrative and budget development.
  • Support Foundation country offices to track trends in donor funding and shifts in donor priorities.
  • Travel to Foundation country offices as needed to support proposal development and other resource mobilization initiatives.

Support NBD Strategic and Long-Term Initiatives – 25% LOE

  • Provide support for NBD strategic and long-term initiatives including:
  • Tracking and analyzing current donor funding and trends.
  • Tracking donor technical priorities and impact on proposal content in coordination with EGPAF technical teams.
  • Support NBD capacity building and training efforts for proposal development.

To be successful, you will have:

  • 3 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success managing proposals from USG and other donors.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and multi-task as member of a dynamic inter-departmental team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail- and goal-oriented; creative problem-solving skills, and ability to work towards specific targets and goals.
  • Strong proposal development skills and writing ability required, evidenced by successfully awarded grants and/or contracts or awards from other public and private sources.
  • Ability to travel to support country program teams, up to 30% travel possible.
