Description:
The SVP, Business Development will report to the Digital Modernization Division lead and be accountable for establishing a growth strategy, leading a team of BD and Capture professionals, and delivering profitable growth. In addition to traditional business development leadership responsibilities, the SVP will manage their team to execute best practices in customer engagement, pipeline management, capture management, solution architecture, proposal development, and organizational management to drive larger submissions and higher win rates for large single award opportunities.
This position is based in the DC area.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying, shaping, and winning opportunities to support double digit annual growth for a $400M+ division.
Manage the development and execution of strategies to meet short- and long-term sales and profit goals, working closely with the Division Lead.
Manage business development planning, competitive intelligence, analytics budgeting and expenditure.
Lead efforts to shape effective marketing strategies, develop new markets, and elevate issues requiring senior executive attention.
Effectively manage a robust pipeline through a rigorous deal governance process
Set BD goals, establish metrics for monitoring BD programs, conduct regular pipeline and opportunity reviews, and ensure that the resources and personnel necessary for implementing BD strategies are in place.
Leverage competitive intelligence and analytics to contribute to strategy discussions.
Identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business strategies that provide the business an opportunity to grow revenue.
Nurture and sustain customer and partner relationships that align with market growth and business development objectives.
Engage in conferences and industry events including external speaking engagements and meetings with clients.
Develop and support strategic partnerships with industry leaders, driving innovation, and new business opportunities.
Interact regularly with senior management/executives from multiple areas within the company to include briefings and presentations on sales initiatives and outcomes.
Partner with BD leadership to support overall strategic planning and linking pursuits/capture activities that support the business development metrics for awards submits, and pipeline growth in IT modernization.
