The Solution Architecture team in Zscalers’ Business Development organization is a highly technical, customer-facing group that helps organizations transform and evolve their IT infrastructure through “better-together” product integrations. Using their deep knowledge of Zscaler products, services, and innovations, Solution Architects build customer-focused solutions that combine Zscaler with offerings from a rich ecosystem of technology, alliance, and cloud partners.

Externally, Solution Architects work closely with Zscaler’s partner ecosystem in a pre-sales and post-sale capacity. Solution Architects provide technical consulting, coordination, and problem-solving solutions by working hand-in-hand with their technical counterparts at Zscaler’s partners and customers. The ideal candidate should have prior field experience working as a Systems Engineer (broad coverage), Solutions Architect (in a sales or product group), Technical Marketing Engineer, or Support Engineer.

Internally, a Solutions Architect is a senior technical individual contributor that possesses multifaceted skills, broad technology knowledge, and grit. These individual contributors partner with Engineering, Product Management, Technology Partner Sales, Cloud Operations, and Business Development to provide highly cross-functional support. The Solutions Architects team members are technical leaders for all Zscaler products and technologies.

Candidates who pass the interview process and are hired will enjoy honing existing technical skills, developing new technical expertise, and shaping emerging architectural discussions and designs with direct contributions.

Responsibilities (External Facing):

  • Advise existing partners on the integration strategies, architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution

  • Provide “best practices” advice to our partner ecosystem.

  • Acquire new partners by leading or contributing to Zscaler technology and architectural discussions demonstrating better customer outcomes.

  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals at Zscaler partners to create Zscaler advocates.

  • Assist partners in acquiring the skills to effectively use Zscaler products and technologies.

  • Author and co-author of technical content (e.g., white papers, deployment guides, blogs, patents, etc.).

Responsibilities (Internal Facing):

  • Work hand-in-hand with Business Development Managers to identify and recruit technology partners for Zscaler.

  • Strive to be a trusted “go-to” advisor on partner-related technologies and integrations for all Zscaler cross-functional teams.

  • Maintain assigned partners’ current solutions through the entire solution lifecycle.

  • Assist Product Management and Engineering with capturing integration details and nuanced use case requirements for product design specifications.

  • Stand up and support joint lab environments at Zscaler and partner labs.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of networking or security in enterprise environments.

  • 10 years of prior work experience in similar positions (e.g., Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, Technical Marketing Engineer, or a Support Engineer).

  • Able to learn and support cutting-edge technologies while context-switching.

  • Strong understanding of how to navigate technical and architectural discussions.

  • Able to present complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences.

  • Comfortable discussing technical topics/issues with business people and business topics/issues with technical people.

  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills across internal and external organizations.

  • Availability to travel to partner sites, conferences, and other related events as required.
