The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Budget and Finance Specialist I or II to join the administrative team in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.

This position will be responsible for oversight, analysis, and advising on budgetary, program, and operational matters for the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing annual operating budgets for department accounts, analyzing expenditure costs and trends, and advising the Department Chair on fiscal and operational decisions related to departmental matters. The selected candidate will join a highly collaborative administrative team to support the teaching, research, and service missions of the department. The candidate will interface with several offices including CVM administration, Office of Sponsored Programs, Procurement, ISD-Finance, and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Administration.

The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, possess the ability to work independently or with a team, maintain confidentiality, and be detail oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational qualities, and effective oral and written communications are necessary to be successful in this position. Additionally, the successful candidate should be confident in exercising independent judgment, and possess the ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex issues and information. Excellent computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel, are essential for success in this position.

The Budget and Finance Specialist position will be filled at the Budget and Finance Specialist I or II level, depending on the candidate's experience.

The Budget and Finance Specialist I position has a minimum required qualification of a Bachelor's degree. The pay grade is a PS807.

The Budget and Finance Specialist II position has a minimum required qualification of a Bachelor's degree. The pay grade is a PS808.
