Description:
The Biological Anthropology (BA) Collections Manager will combine expertise in bioanthropology/ bioarcheology with collections experience and will carry out collections-related tasks that ensure the stewardship and accessibility of the collections. These tasks include: rehousing and inventory of the BA collections; organizing the collections in storage; maximizing long-term preservation and accessibility of the collection; planning, in collaboration with Conservation and the Registrar's Office, the long-term collection storage needs; assisting in the pr eparation of grant applications in support of collections needs; ordering storage supplies; routinely monitoring the physical conditions of collections; supervising volunteers and work-study students; create entries and review existing data in computerized collections databases; developing plans and programs for inventory and documentation of collections; liaising with other Museum departments; assisting with repatriation requests; and arranging access to the collections.
