Description:
The Beverage/Bar Manager is a pivotal role within our successful hospitality group, overseeing a vibrant and dynamic bar scene in the heart of Soho. As a member of our team, you will spearhead initiatives, drive development, and ensure the seamless operation of our bar in line with our farm-to-table, art-focused ethos.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide leadership and direction to the bar team, driving company initiatives and fostering future development.
- Ensure adherence to standards in service quality, cocktail consistency, menu development, beer procurement, staff training, and appearance.
- Supervise day-to-day shift activities, ensuring smooth floor operations.
- Maintain company standards for service, cleanliness, and quality.
- Assist the Chef with menu adjustments and education.
- Develop new cocktail menu items, house specialties, and departmental advancements.
- Partner with stakeholders on companywide initiatives, projects, and vendor relations.
- Curate seasonal produce and products in bar menu items.
- Ensure accurate entry of recipes and beverage costs in the POS system.
- Manage scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff.
- Uphold liquor control policies and procedures.
- Maintain transparent accounting of vendor transactions and promotions.
- Oversee bar inventory, procurement, and budget management.
- Manage bar infrastructure maintenance and repairs.
- Handle customer complaints and conflicts effectively.
- Assist in planning and executing events.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of the bar program with company vision and ethos.
- Manage compliance with beverage and liquor laws.
- Maintain food handling and sanitation standards.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Assist with financial forecasting, P&L, and cost management.
- Support wine program management and procurement.
- Directly manage bar lead positions.
- Handle barware and glassware inventory management.
**Requirements:**
- Understanding of beverage control, inventory management, and cost controls.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of produce seasonality and local purveyors.
- Adaptability to changing market trends while upholding company brand.
- TIPS & Food Handlers certification.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to foster a culture of education and teamwork.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items.
