Description:
Summit Technologies Inc. is seeking a Back End Developer to support our government client. In this role you will provide professional Drupal web development and content management support to assist the client with operating, maintaining, and enhancing the clients public and intranet websites. You will also be involved with the design and delivery of technical solutions and custom application development within the Customers environment. This is an in person onsite role based in Washington, DC. Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow agile development processes and web development best practices to plan and deliver enhancements to the site.
- Develop, test, and implement website enhancements (examples of enhancements include migration to CKEditor5, creation of a Drupal instance for the Intranet, research into and integration of new Drupal modules to meet evolving business needs, development and/or integration of graphical data presentations, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations identified on the clients website: Checklist of requirements for federal websites and digital services.
- Ensure all custom development adheres to security best practices and verification testing in accordance with OWASP Application Security Verification Standards or comparable industry or government standards. This includes the capability for the contractor, or a third-party to perform automated and manual code analysis in accordance with OMB M 22-09: Moving the U.S. Government Towards Zero Trust Cybersecurity Principles.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge and hands on experience of back-end/module development using technologies including Javascript, Drupal CMS, PHP, JQuery and RESTfulAPIs.
- Experience with management and optimization of back-end/supporting databases including SQL, Oracle, and DBMS.
- Experience leading and participating in agile development processes and hands on experience in executing DevOps processes and software builds.
- Knowledge of federal information system security requirements and hands on experience supporting the performance of security assessment and evaluation.
- Expertise in coding scripts to support the migration of content between different content management systems.
- Experience and skill designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing website architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
- Experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP implementations in a SaaS LAMP environment (experience with Acquia Cloud is preferred).
- Knowledge of Federal information system security requirements; Hands on experience in performing security assessment and evaluation.
- Experience with source control/collaboration tools (Git, Acquia Cloud, etc.)
- Strong understanding of industry trends and CMSs.
Education:
- Bachelors degree and eight of experience; Or
- Masters degree and six of experience; Or
- subsequent work experience
