Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Associate Vice President for Admissions is a leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the Office of Admission that includes Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and International Admissions.
The primary focus of this role is to develop and implement strategic initiatives to achieve enrollment goals and support the university’s mission. The Associate Vice President will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to improve and optimize recruitment and admission strategies. The Associate Vice President will represent UTA both on- and off-campus to a wide variety of constituents. In collaboration with the Vice President for Enrollment, the Associate Vice President will assist in establishing recruitment goals, recommend solutions on a range of highly complex admission and enrollment processes, recommend new strategies to increase enrollments, oversee the implementation of a comprehensive campus visitation program, and ensure the functionality of enrollment communications and efficiency of Slate CRM. The Associate Vice President initiates, builds, and maintains relationships with constituents while advising on the breadth and depth of opportunities available at UTA to generate enrollment pipelines from multiple sources and new markets. The Associate Vice President must be forward-thinking and innovative, providing dynamic leadership and strong management. The Associate Vice President will be responsible for an enrollment communication plan, campus visit program, attending regional events and college fairs, hosting on-site application review programs, visiting high schools, overseeing the review process of applications for admission, and follow-up with all prospective student audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across academic units to ensure recruiting strategies align with program offerings and market demand.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing new student recruitment activities, including actively leading enrollment projections and funnel management activities aligned with university goals.
- Work in active partnership with International Student Services and the Graduate School to implement a robust international recruitment strategy.
- Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize outcomes by actively partnering with Marketing, Messaging, and Engagement.
- Assist in the development of admissions materials, events, and marketing practices.
- Proactively promotes and recruits school districts to be dual credit partners for the University.
- Lead efforts within assigned units to support high-level CRM (Slate) and SIS (PeopleSoft) use in tracking analytics and creating and assessing metrics to support a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting team.
- Hire and supervise high-performing recruiters to work cohesively as a team to drive prospects through the recruiting cycle.
- Work closely with embedded recruiters in each of the colleges.
- Engage and inform prospective students, their parents, and families about the University and the benefits of a UTA education on an individual, small, and large group basis.
- Inspire the community to actively participate in admissions events, including individual and group tours, student shadow visits, and curricular information sessions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local education leaders, counselors, and other key stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies, including area schools, consultants, admissions directors, and organizations.
- Research and implement environmental scans to analyze student enrollment trends in the state of Texas, nationally and globally.
- Assists the Vice President in the development of long-range planning for Enrollment Management, particularly as relates to budgets, staffing, and evaluation of the trends that impact university enrollment.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher or equivalent relevant experience.
- Eight (8) years minimum experience in higher education with at least five (5) years or more in a leadership role.
- Evidence of leadership that has directly resulted in the achievement of new student enrollment goals.
- Experience with on- and off-campus recruitment events.
- Evidence of experience and leadership developing creative and impactful recruitment, social media and marketing strategies.
- Ability to engage audiences large and small in the most highly persuasive and impactful ways. Effective and influential communicator.
- Enrollment leadership experience at a university.
