Description:
Reporting to the Senior Registrar within the Collections Division of the Penn Museum, the Associate Registrar will work with special collections, including human remains and other culturally sensitive materials. The Associate Registrar is responsible for conducting a museum-wide inventory of the physical human remains in the collection (regardless of Curatorial Section), which will include working in conjunction with at least one bio-archaeologist/bio-anthropologist to process & catalogue the material, as well as the NAGPRA Coordinator, the Curatorial Section Keepers & Curators as nee ded, and other Museum staff members. The Associate Registrar will assist with a comprehensive storage project to improve the storage of the Biological Anthropology Collection. The Associate Registrar will work regularly in the Museum's collections database, EMu, and will assist in performing other Registrarial duties and collections-related research and administrative duties.
