Background & Purpose of the Job
As the Associate Marketing Director, Brand Development & Communications, you will have the unique responsibility to set the vision for & implementation of crafting & scaling the story of our powerful brand – spanning product, mission, advocacy and sustainability. This role is uniquely about creating/demonstrating the vision and having the creative excellence to bring this to life for our target audience. This role sits on the Seventh Generation Marketing Leadership Team and reports directly to the Seventh Generation CEO.
Development of brand communications strategy & architecture, brand voice and brand creative execution across all digital marketing & packaging touch points. Work led in partnership with CEO & Consumer Insights
Development, Implementation & Measure Multiyear brand communication program that will: bring SVG brand key to life & drive rapid trial & household penetration acceleration for the brand:
Responsible for creating innovative digital & social marketing campaigns that support the brand/product strategy and pushes the boundaries with how we connect with conscious consumers
Develop strong & compelling product marketing assets that break down key barriers to brand trial
Build brand love through development of mission led story telling & advocacy campaign execution; communications experience in a B Corp or other mission driven company a bonus for role
Partner with media agency to build strong multi-channel plan that maximizes small company budgets and also enables experimentation
Develop & Drive Consistency for compelling brand creative vision:
Responsible for building & executing brand book in partnership with in house creative team and agency partners
You are the creative ‘hub’ with many cross functional teams (product, performance marketing, shopper, outside agencies) as your ‘spokes’. You are responsible for ensuring that brand remains consistent & effective across all touch points.
Managing a broad & multi-dimensional team: Experienced people manager to lead a broad team of social & digital marketers, and in house creative designers. Serve as the “general manager” of the integrated agency team. You will need to feel comfortable making effective organization and people decisions in a manner consistent with Seventh Generation values and Unilever standards of leadership

Proven track record in creating strong relationships with external marketing agencies, working collaboratively to deliver compelling results

What You’ll Need To Succeed
10 years of digital marketing experience in a fast-paced, high pressure marketing environment, preferably within a CPG business, franchise organization, national brand(s), and/or agency
Deeply familiar with brand strategy, multi-channel execution (paid and owned), social platforms, e-commerce, influencer strategies, retail marketing, community building and have executed these at scale, driving business results and brand equity along the way.
Skilled at building brand awareness and igniting consumer action. Demonstrated understanding how to utilize social media and social platforms to build movements, support campaigns, build understanding and drive consumers to take action.
Experience with data analysis tools and ability to analyze data from a variety of sources to support decision making and align with the overall strategy
An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry.
Experienced people manager, 3-5 years of experience managing of a team of 3+ direct reports
Experience working in both small/mid size organizations & large organizations; demonstrate ability to leverage the best of big company thinking at smaller scale
Demonstrate passion that creating a better world through business matters to you - feel connected to the mission of transforming health, sustainability, and corporate transparency
