Chewy is looking for an Associate Director, Healthcare Services Compliance to join our Legal, Risk and Corporate Responsibility Team. This position is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast-paced, dynamic Legal Department supporting business opportunities and regulatory compliance issues in connection with veterinary services. This position will report to the Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of compliance issues related to healthcare services, including Chewy’s Connect with a Vet consultant service.
- Lead collaboration with legal counsel and healthcare service operations to draft and update standards of care and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with legal counsel to identify and assess laws, rules, regulations, and guidance, as set forth by the applicable federal, state, and local government agencies and industry standards, and assist the business with building and maintaining compliant operations.
- Facilitate, coordinate, or conduct assessments and audits to identify areas of risk in the healthcare service area and draft standard operating procedures and process improvement plans to address same
- Assist healthcare services teams in establishing processes and procedures; overseeing training; and conducting on-going compliance education.
- Assist healthcare services teams in implementing appropriate business operations in response to regulatory requirements and changes related to Telehealth and other operations.
- Monitor and assess programs and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices.
- Collaborate with key leadership, other employees, and veterinarians to identify, research, investigate and resolve compliance issues related to healthcare services, including Telehealth operations.
- Oversee and document external regulatory investigations and audits related to healthcare services, including tele-triage operations.
- Work with Human Resources and legal counsel to investigate suspected employee misconduct related to healthcare services and related matters and determine appropriate discipline for employees found to have committed compliance violations.
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years progressively responsible experience within healthcare services environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to move quickly; intellectually curious and willingness to learn new areas of business and experience.
- Up to 50% travel required.
