Background & Purpose of the Job
As the Associate Marketing Director, Product Development & Strategy, you will have ownership of the brand rolling 12 quarter product innovation agenda and category in market activation strategy. This role sits on the Seventh Generation Marketing Leadership Team and reports directly to the Seventh Generation CEO.
Developing & Executing the 3 year rolling innovation & renovation product program across Laundry, Dish and Household cleaners, as well as developing any strategic adjacencies. This role will be responsible for driving innovation growth and ensuring profitable innovation in line with the rolling 3 year business planning goals. This work is in partnership with the local & global Home Care R&D teams - strong communication, partnership and influence are required.
Setting The Strategy For & Measuring In Year Category Led Marketing Programs: Responsible for Marketing/Advertising budget development, allocation and deployment against multi-channel program. Enable team to measure results & pivot in year
Managing a broad & multi-dimensional team: Experienced people manager to lead a broad team of brand product marketers, and act as ‘general manager’ of cross functional product development squads. Demonstration of strong cross functional relationship builds – must work across marketing, local US R&D, global R&D, local customer development and global stakeholders to implement agenda with excellence. You will need to feel comfortable making effective organization and people decisions in a manner consistent with Seventh Generation values and Unilever standards of leadership
Developing Strong Partnerships Consistent with Seventh Generation Values: Being a talent catalyst, relationship builder and identifiable leader is crucial in this role. This individual must prioritize strong and healthy relationships across teams that are consistent with Seventh Generation values & mission.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
10 years of marketing experience in the CPG industry with background in brand mgmt. or general mgmt.
Experience leading complex innovation projects and development robust innovation pipeline
Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans across many areas.
Demonstration of strong financial acumen and strong understanding of taking consumers insights into action
An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry.
Experienced people manager, 3-5 years of experience managing of a team of 3+ direct reports
Experience working in both small/mid size organizations & large organizations; demonstrate ability to leverage the best of big company thinking at smaller scale
Ability to impact and influence different areas of the organization. Experience setting and also rallying different stakeholders behind the established vision; ability to liaise with teams at all levels
Create a clear view of the future state, helping others understand and feel how things will be different when this is achieved. Have a practical know-how, demonstrating results orientation while empowering and holding the team accountable for results.
