The Associate Director, Value & Access – LAMS will hand in hand with the Value Access Director & GMs to appropriately cover the whole of the LATAM region. This individual will partner closely with commercial, medical, government affairs, HEOR, public affairs colleagues to develop the optimal market access strategy and a comprehensive plan on reimbursement submission status and strategy of LATAM markets. Work with the commercial and pricing colleagues to optimize current sales & launch sequencing. Will project manage and oversee creation of robust P&R facilitating materials (payer detail aids, market access resources, simplified budget impact models, formulary packs etc) for ACE countries and lead strategic pricing insight and strategy generation work across the Gilead portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development & implement the local value story in alignment with the global value story
- Work closely with commercial, medical, government affairs, HEOR, public affairs colleagues to develop the optimal market access strategy for LATAM markets
- Responsible for the development & implementation of the local pricing & reimbursement strategy
- Responsibility for the local pricing & reimbursement dossiers (preparation including Health Economic Outcome data and submission)
- Responsibility for the reimbursement negotiations (prepare & drive negotiations with internal & external stakeholders within the process)
- Achieve optimal Market Access conditions (early and optimal value-based broad access)
- Assess, plan and implement health economic and outcome research studies and epidemiologic data collection projects to support Market Access claims
- Provide accurate qualitative and quantitative input into Budget and Strategic Planning.
- Monitor and analyze the pricing and reimbursement of competitors and consider the impact on business strategy caused by competitors' actions
- Monitor regulatory environment and anticipate the financial impact of legislation changes; quantify the risks and opportunities for Gilead
- Internal cross functional collaboration especially within the brand team(s)
- Interacting with International Gilead Market Access functions
- Establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders such as MoH KDMs, health insurance companies and experts
- Participate as Gilead representative in industry meetings
- Analyze, synthesize and translate technical HEOR, P&R information, including coverage and payment policies, into meaningful decision points, recommendations, and strategic tactics
- Set milestones and manage external vendors and consultants for timely project deliverables
- Prioritize tasks, and organize and manage multiple projects while maintaining an understanding of national and global perspectives and objectives
- Support the strategy implementation for negotiating the terms of pricing and reimbursement of Gilead products in collaboration with the Business Units, GM and Regulatory Affairs in line with the guidelines of HQ.
- Develops local pricing proposals consistent with the global pricing strategy
- Understands and utilizes medical and epidemiological information to prepare supportive documents to support negotiations with the various stakeholders in the reimbursement and pricing process
- Collaborate with the working group for the preparation of multifunctional Dossier Price and Reimbursement based on the agreed pricing strategy and the strategy of market access; Collaborate in the preparation of the dossier in support of the request Value added in the Gilead drugs regional formularies
- Develop projects in HTA to support the value of the product.
- Design and / or commission research to generate evidence to support the value of the product story including economic evaluations, outcome studies and epidemiology. Studies and projects that can arise from the request and/ or collaboration with stakeholders clinical or non-clinical
- Develop key messages value and support colleagues in the territory or stakeholders clinical and nonclinical in communicating these
- Monitor the information available in the literature relating to economic, outcomes, HTA relevant to Gilead products and their competitors and innovative initiatives of Market Access
- Support valuable relationships with key pricing and reimbursement decision makers. May manage cross-functional teams or work groups
