The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated frontline museum representative who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills matched with an ability to work with major support groups of the institution and with diverse communities throughout Central Florida. A demonstrated passion for teaching and learning through art is essential along with having a positive attitude and a hands-on strong work ethic. This position requires a solid foundation in art history and museum teaching, and someone who has experience organizing public programs. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, executes and manages tasks with little supervision, and shows enthusiasm for handling a wide-range of programs and working in a fast-paced environment. The Associate Curator of Adult Programs and Outreach must be able to work a varied schedule including some evenings and weekends.

  • Master's degree in art history, fine arts, museum education, museum studies or related field.
  • 5-10 years museum experience developing and planning programs and managing individuals and projects. Background in fostering universal access for arts and cultural organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of art history and studio art, current museum teaching strategies and learning theory, public speaking experience.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
