ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain an ongoing creative research record through a strong record of dynamic professional practice and engagement in the field through exhibitions, publications, or similar endeavors

Service to the department and the university is required.

Course scheduling and student fee budget oversight.

Must be flexible with class scheduling and may teach during all hours of the day.

Must be committed to teamwork and the growth of the Art and Design Department by working together with current faculty and recruiting.

The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester (Four Three Credit Hour Courses per semester).

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Master of Fine Art within the Studio Arts or a related field
    Two or more years teaching experience with emphasis in foundations studies and a demonstrated expertise in art and design principles.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching
  • Knowledge of and commitment to contemporary, foundations-level art and design pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially with other faculty and students on interdisciplinary/collaborative projects.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with experience in foundations or introductory-level studio art courses.
  • Ability to manage foundation classrooms.
  • Understanding of and capability for the development and implementation of a wide array of curricular and pedagogical methodologies and course development.
  • Effective communication and organization skills
