Description:

Teaching responsibilities encompass a teaching load of 3 courses per semester (3/3 load) and include introductory art history courses, courses in an area of expertise, and helping to develop and contribute to the development of a new minor in curatorial studies. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, college, and university, advising, and externalizing scholarship.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in art history or museum studies. While 1-3 years of teaching and curatorial experience is preferred, we also welcome applications from exceptional early-career scholars.

The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

This appointment starts in August 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A.B.D. in art history or museum studies
  • Evidence of effective and engaging teaching
  • Interest in the development and implementation of a curatorial studies minor
  • A sound strategy for engaging in external scholarly activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in art history or museum studies
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience and/or curatorial experience
  • Expertise in global contemporary art history
