PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the conditional pass and academic coaching programs.
  • Assist with supervising the Graduate Assistant(s) and project employees that work with academic mentoring program and support Foundations coursework
  • Management of program recruitment and enrollment, meeting enrollment deadlines and goals
  • Identifies at-risk students and develops outreach initiatives to maintain student contact and engagement through development and assessment of programs
  • Assists with the management and implementation of early intervention and summer programming including recruitment, intrusive outreach, and oversight of instruction and online programs.
  • Performs intrusive outreach to student cohorts in Foundations programs during the year; monitors students’ qualifications to exit program or extend participation eligibility.
  • Assist in the development of needs assessment, curriculum design, evaluation and training delivery methods
  • Assist in the development, implementation and management of year-round developmental math program (WPS1060) and the year round developmental reading program (WPS 1090) including the following responsibilities:
  • Assist in the recruitment and supervision of Math and Reading instructors and supporting staff as needed; provide feedback and development to staff as needed
  • Perform outreach and develop outreach initiatives to increase student retention, persistence, and success in all remedial math and reading programs
  • Review and build developmental math and developmental reading curriculum; conduct outcomes review to modify and update curriculum and pedagogy as needed
  • Research best instructional formats for all remedial math and reading programs, in collaboration with Director engage in staff and program development.
  • Contribute in evaluating incoming student class and developmental need to build an effective schedule to meet remedial math and reading needs
  • Uses various contemporary methods to communicate with incoming students and families about programs and services offered by the department.
  • Generates and publishes content using web and social media technology to maintain regular communication with target student population and the University community.
  • Collaborates with various academic support departments, faculty and other offices in the development of academic workshops, programs and support services for First Year students.
  • Assists the Director in the assessment and measurement of program outcomes; compiles, analyzes and manages data for reports.
  • Prepares cogent reports containing findings and recommendations, as required.
  • Promotes First Year Foundations programing and services to internal constituents and external communities as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in academic administration related to student academic support programs or developmental education is required. Experience with developmental math and /or reading is preferred.
  • Supervision and management of large-scale programs
  • Mange program recruitment and enrollment of at-risk population
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology in the delivery and assessment of programs.
  • Working knowledge of Banner student information system is preferred.
  • Ability to think analytically, work independently and collaboratively with all levels in the organization.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends.
