Description:

Under the direction of the Recreation Director, the Assistant Director, Marketing & Creative Services is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and the general supervision of the Department of Recreation's marketing and branding efforts. Provides a strategic and integrated approach to effectively promote, market, execute and evaluate departmental programs and services. Coordinates the Department of Recreation's marketing and promotional efforts targeting UCSB and Santa Barbara community including, but not limited to: producing all departmental printed publications; coordinating all temporary building signage; coordinating the audio/video messaging systems; and maintaining the department website and social media sites. Manage and provide long term strategic planning of annual marketing (~$200,000) expenditures. Provides the artistic and graphic design support for those efforts. Works with the Senior Associate Director and other department Assistant Directors to develop an overall development/ sponsorship strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years experience developing, implementing, evaluating and adapting digital-centric marketing plans as well as print design/marketing to effectively reach diverse audiences resulting in registrations and engagement.
  • Significant experience using technology and analytics tools such as CRMs, Google Analytics, digital marketing platforms, etc.
  • Experience creating, managing and adapting marketing budgets that achieve established enrollment/revenue targets.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal (or similar CMS) and various social media platforms.
  • Project management, independent problem-solving and organizational skills to effectively monitor and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines and tasks.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors and other partners and ability to make decisions based on established organizational goals and policies as well as sound judgment.
