Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment Management

  • Manage recruitment territory that involves interacting with students, parents, and counselors at high school visits, college fairs, panels, and college recruitment.
  • Work closely with high school counselors and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to develop strong relationships for the University.
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge about the University, St. Louis, and admissions are critical.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times as a representative of the University.

Application Evaluation and Selection Process

  • Review and evaluate applications and participate on committees to make admissions recommendations and decisions aligned with institutional goals.
  • Confidentiality and thoughtful consideration of applicants are a must.
  • Must have the ability to work independently following admissions guidelines; lead and participate in discussions and decision-making processes; keep pace with reading expectations; and meet all deadlines throughout the reading season.

Service

  • Conduct information sessions about the University, Admissions, and Financial Aid for prospective students and families.
  • Provide customer service by answering phone calls and emails from prospective students and parents.
  • Interview prospective students who visit campus.
  • Answer questions about the University, admissions, financial aid and St. Louis.
  • Work with faculty, deans, and representatives from other departments at the University to support recruitment and enrollment efforts. Must be able to make mature decisions and recommendations.

Student Financial Services Recruitment Support

  • Assist in financial aid related work to support students through the investigation, application, and yield of diverse 1st year students. This will include reviewing financial aid files, providing early estimates to students, communicating information about aid offers to students, and presenting to students, families, and counselors throughout the process.

 


Other duties as assigned.

 

Working Conditions

  • The position will be located in an open office environment.
  • As conditions merit, this position may be required to work remotely.
  • Travel and attendance at many events on and off campus is necessary, which may include international travel.
  • Travel expectation is six to eight weeks per year.
  • Must transport recruitment materials to high school visits, college fairs, and group meetings.
  • Work outside of normal business hours is necessary throughout the year.
  • Position requires heavy use of the computer including an electronic application reading system in the office and at home.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
