Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing/ Game Management and Rentals
Basic Function and Responsibility
Assist and maintain relationships with groups across campus or in the community as it relates to marketing and working with all aspects of running events and outside rentals.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison to other university departments and faculty and staff regarding the marketing of events.
Oversee game day activities in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Game Management and Facilities. Includes scheduling, working with officials, visiting teams, working table crews, concessions and ticketing.
Develop and design comprehensive marketing and promotion plans for student involvement.
Establish strong communication skills with coaches, faculty and staff on behalf of the Department of Athletics.
Assist with on campus recruitment of prospective students and student – athletes.
Negotiate and execute contractual agreements with local, regional, and national companies, corporations and organizations to promote and generate external sources of revenue.
Maintain inventory and coordinates sale of all advertising and signage in conjunction with intercollegiate events, facilities, publications, web sites and other areas.
Implement and oversee a merchandise sales program to generate revenue for the department.
Work in conjunction with the Sports Information staff on all live video streaming web based broadcasting, social media and other communications platforms to monetize these programs.
Work with campus groups and the student body to drive attendance and enhance game day atmosphere.
Coordinate special events, and serve as the liaison with the Student Life Staff.
Design and implement an internship program in conjunction with the Business School and Sports Management in Education for marketing and sports management students.
Ensure that all activities and personnel adhere to university and NCAA compliance rules and regulations as they pertain to students and student-athletes.
Supervision Received
Direction is received from the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Supervision Exercised
Administrative supervision is exercised over a staff consisting of coaches, administrative professional and office/technical employees.
