Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Track & analyze cash position, assist in cash forecasting and reporting of net financial position
- Prepare, review and analyze financial information to ensure integrity is maintained
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsible for preparations of journal entries, reconciliations and consolidated IFRS & GAAP financial reporting package to parent company
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting
- Prepare tax worksheets and support schedules
- Participate in external and internal audits as required
- Work closely with operational personnel to achieve company objectives in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, Colas internal policies and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and develop internal control procedures
- Uphold Colas ethics and business principles
- Ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in accounting, finance or other applicable degree. At least 7 years of accounting work experience is acceptable for this position.
- Construction industry accounting experience including WIP reporting
- Strong knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
- Previous experience managing a small team.
- Ideal candidate will have CPA and/or CMA certification.
- Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and follow-up on multiple concurrent tasks
- Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Windows and MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level). Experience with JDE, Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software a plus
- Highly motivated, positive, professional, organized, detail oriented, and an effective communicator
