Description:
Bank headquartered in Greenwich, CT is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join their accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting, filing call report and banking industry experience.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller:
- Handle monthly closing daily accounting responsibilities, account reconciliations and accruals.
- Manage bank operations related responsibilities including recording daily FRB, FHLB and Investment transactions.
- Manage Accounting staff and review their Balance Sheet and P&L account reconciliations and schedules.
- Handle call reports
- Assist in preparation of quarterly Earnings Releases and Call Reports
- Assist in preparation of month Financial statement, Board Package,
- Record Inter-company transactions, reconciliations and eliminations.
- General Ledger monthly closing
- Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Daily FRB & FHLB bank Reconciliation
- Assist and prepare semi & annual Regulatory filings.
- Assist and prepare files for external professionals in its annual audit, income tax preparation, internal audit and FIDICIA Audits
- Ad hoc projects
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Min 5+ years plus of accounting experience
- Banking industry experience
- Filing Call report experience
- CPA preferred
- Management and mentoring of Staff Experience
- Strong advanced excel skills to include vlookups, IF Functions, pivot tables
- Fiserv & Prologue experience preferred
- Jack Henry experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Powerpoint Ability to multitask, and manage stress well
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, comfortable working with large data files
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Diligent, reliable, self-starter
