Essential Functions:
The following duties are typical for this classification. However, incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices:
- Strong working knowledge of digital administrative tools including Microsoft office Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, general knowledge of Canva, Activity Messenger/Constant Contact, Survey Monkey along with Understanding of CivicsPlus website updates and SmartRec registration software a plus.
- Organize and implement multi-discipline arts education programming for participants of all ages and abilities to support the District and division goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with local artists, cultural organizations, and community members to enhance program offerings and community involvement.
- Promote arts programs through various channels, including social media, community newsletters, and local media outlets.
- Organize and participate in community outreach activities to raise awareness and increase participation in arts programs.
- Assist the A&E Manager in the planning and execution of the grand opening of the new performing arts center.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation, feedback, and financial transactions.
- Provide support for other district events and activities as needed
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as needed to ensure high-quality experiences for participant
- Schedule and contract teaching artists/instructors and disseminate timeline
- Coordinate all program delivery, supplies, and setup.
- Participate in weekly and quarterly staff meetings
- General office, data entry, and computer support
- Provide support for the Arts & Entertainment Manager
- Perform on-site program / instructor / event evaluations and compile reports.
- Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain a weekly schedule of duties performed, a daily journal, and weekly reports
- Promote and enforce safety procedures; render first aid and CPR, if certified, as required
- Use strong customer service and interpersonal skills during public contact during activities
- Act as Department representative to residents, community groups, private businesses, and others concerning questions, problems, concerns, and activities in the Arts & Entertainment division.
- The Part-Time Arts & Entertainment Associate may perform other essential and nonessential duties as assigned.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary, including knowledge of basic office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds (50 lbs.).

- General knowledge of arts and culture programs.
- General knowledge of program organization and implementation.
- Ability to follow oral, written, and demonstrated instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with your supervisor, other employees, participants, and the public.
- Initiative and willingness to learn with a strong desire for continued learning and an interest in arts, recreation, and activity planning is required.
