Description:
We are looking for an Architectural Designer to join our firm. Our ideal candidate is an architectural graduate and talented designer, who is imaginative, curious, and passionate about design and interested in designing in multiple market sectors. This specific position does not require an Architecture license, though the individual should be capable of supporting project work effectively while pursuing the knowledge and experience needed to obtain this certification.
In Your New Role, You Will:
- Report to the Project Architect responsible for the individual project and be responsible for site planning, building and interior design and space planning design iterations utilizing 3D modeling and hand sketching.
- Actively participate in aspects of a project including design conceptualization, visualization, programming, architectural and interior design, research, design/document production, construction administration, collaboration with the project team, coordination with owners, consultants, and contractors through all phases of design and delivery.
- Prepare proposals, project layouts, and develop designs in 3D using Revit and Lumion for client review/approval.
- Assist with preparation of construction drawings, construction detailing and specification writing.
- Assist in the construction administration phase by reviewing submittals, attending site visits, and evaluating and responding to construction related issues.
- Prepare finish material sample boards and graphic presentations, and engage in client meetings.
- Work with intermediate or senior level staff to review work for intent, quality, and precision.
- Mentor less experienced designers and work in a collaborative manner with other team members.
- Participate in Strategic Planning Committees that align with your interests, for the establishment of firm wide goals and ongoing review and improvement of office culture, efficiency, and production.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present design concepts to co-workers and clients, both graphically and verbally.
- Proficiency in Revit, Lumion and/or other modeling software.
- Graphic and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities that apply to a team approach to problem solving and execution.
- Software familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365, and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
