Ocurrente is a rapidly growing full-service architecture firm located in North Central Austin. We are seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Designer position. Our practice includes residential and light commercial projects all over Central Texas. We pride ourselves in serving a variety of clients with clever solutions customized for their specific needs. The ideal candidate is open-minded, creative, and skilled in residential construction standards and Interior Architecture. You will be expected to participate in all phases of project development from design through construction. Compensation, hourly, commensurate with you experience and skills, starting at $20 + / hour.

Job Description:

  • Contribute to design and documentation of various projects, including Design Boards, schematic packages, digital modeling and rendering, and construction documents
  • Hybrid office set up with weekly virtual meetings and in person Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Construction, New Project, and Research travel visits.
  • Employee shall provide their own hardware and personal office set-up for daily work from home.
  • Collaborative office environment with an emphasis on mentoring and professional development
  • The position begins on a Contract basis to be assessed over a 3 month provisional period, before offer of Employment.

Applicants Must Have:

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Science
  • Must be proficient in Google Suite, Sketchup and Autocad
  • Familiarity with wood frame construction methods
