Duties
- You will provide assistance and technical guidance to other engineers, architect, and business lines as a Construction Engineer/Architect.
- You will manage multiple priorities and provide technical solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of construction contracts for multi-million dollar state-of-the-art facility projects.
- You will be responsible for enforcement of all technical and administrative provisions of assigned construction contracts.
- You will review and approve technical contractor administrative submittals such as schedules, environmental protection plans, health and safety plans and accident prevention plans.
- You will monitor project budget and time constraints and initiate appropriate correct action as necessary to ensure funding thresholds and impacts to operational needs are not exceeded.
- You will serve as the technical representative in matters involving contract modifications and claims.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing professional engineering or architectural construction management services concerning facilities construction, repair and maintenance; 2) Identifying and recommending technical solutions to engineering and architectural problems encountered during the construction of facilities; 3) Monitoring contractor constructor schedules to ensure construction projects do not exceed time constraints; 4) Reviewing accident prevention plans for compliance with contract health and safety requirements; 5) Reviewing contract drawings and specifications with respect to constructability and compatibility with field conditions.
