Duties

  • You will coordinate and direct the work of others in the timely execution of project development, design, and construction for all projects assigned.
  • You will render technical decisions/recommendations on situations, questions, and/or problems relating to scheduling, funding, project coordination, and contract interpretations related to execution of projects.
  • You will identify areas of risk associated with design and construction and develops mitigation strategies or alternatives.
  • You will lead/serve on A-E Slate/Selection Boards and provides recommendations for contract awards.
  • You will provide project management services for planning, design and construction of assigned projects, to include minor works projects, special projects, military construction, demolition, maintenance, space utilization and facilities development.
  • You will represent NAVFAC in conferences to develop execution plans and to assure timely completion of all phases of the work within available funds and authorized scope.
  • You will facilitate in the development of project scope, schedule, design and construction cost estimates, obtain permits, contract acquisition strategies, design scope development and oversight, construction oversight and other required services.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is required at the GS-13 grade level.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
