Application Support Analyst

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Analyst to join a leading global commodities trading firm for their IT and Support Operations team in New York.

This role focuses on supporting critical applications within the metals and energy trading environment, ensuring the efficient operation of systems essential to trade capture, market data, risk management, and settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time technical support for trading applications, troubleshoot issues, and manage incident tickets.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, responding swiftly to system alerts.
• Assist end-users, including traders and risk managers, with application queries and provide training as needed.
• Update and maintain technical documentation to support team knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate with IT Development on projects and releases, and identify opportunities to automate manual processes.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in SQL (Oracle/MS SQL), scripting (Powershell, Python), and Windows infrastructure.
• Experience with trading platforms (Openlink, FIX, Trayport, or similar) is beneficial.
• Background in application support within commodities trading or financial services preferred.
• Strong analytical and multitasking skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
