Annual Fund Manager

The Meriden Humane Society (a non-profit) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Annual Fund Manager. This position will build on Meriden Humane Society’s annual fund program to create and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel annual fund initiative. The AFM directs and administers all aspects of annual fund giving to include; face-to-face and phone solicitation, direct mail fundraising, online fundraising, donor database maintenance and appeal segmentation, donor acknowledgement and stewardship, gift processing and financial reporting. This position will play a critical role in planning and implementing a comprehensive annual fund program to broaden donor base, upgrade the average size of donation and increase donor retention. This position will work closely with the Society’s board treasurer and will report directly to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead committee for all aspects of annual fund giving to include: face-to-face and phone solicitation, development of corporate sponsorships, direct mail fundraising and online fundraising.
  • Analyze effectiveness of various fundraising and donor solicitation methods and messages; adapt future appeals accordingly.
  • Create and implement strategic donor development based on donor segmentation and research.
  • Develop and manage expense budget for annual fund program.
  • Monitor the monthly progress of annual fund results compared to financial goals.
  • Manage donor acknowledgements and stewardship, identifying and implementing donor management software in concert with the Board of Directors.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, private and corporate sponsors and internal committees to meet annual giving deadlines and goals.

Requirements:

  • CFRE preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in non-profit managment, business administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three years annual fund management experience with proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, including grant writingand donor cultivation.
  • Familiarity and experience with moves management.
  • Ability to analyze database and segment appeals to various audiences.
  • Quick rapport with internal and external parties.
  • Excellent writing, organizational and public speaking skills.
