Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Discovery Circle annual donor community. Manage the supporters' phone lines and email accounts, providing prompt responses to donor inquiries
- Manage solicitation and benefits fulfilment for Discovery Circle donors
- Manage proposal strategy recording and tracking in Raisers' Edge database
- Support the implementation of annual Giving Day and coordinate the participation of Museum partners across departments
- Provide monthly reports for Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups including analysis of solicitation efforts, event attendance, donor engagement
- Analyze member's and donors' giving patterns and capacity to inform donor pipeline development and solicitation strategies to motivate migration of donors from below $250 a year through all Discovery Circle bands
- Assist Individual Giving Manager with planning and executing events for the Discovery Circle donor community
- Conduct behind-the-scenes tours
- Research and coordinate new channels/platforms of giving (i.e. monthly giving, web giving, and other special giving campaigns) to promote a healthy sustainer giving program
- Coordinate ticket reservations for donors in ACME ticketing system, ensure donor data accuracy across donor database, ticketing system, and digital card system
- Handle cash donations and deposit process
- Manage department expense budget tracking
- Provide administrative support to Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups
- Serve as a liaison with Membership and Visitor Services teams
- Help develop, implement, and analyze results of donor surveys, as needed.
- Manage community donation requests from outside organizations
- Stay informed of best practices across peer institutions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BA or an equivalent level of education and experience is required.
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and Adobe Suite experience is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail, curiosity and desire to contribute holistically to the Individual Giving team
- Data analytics skills and experience segmenting and targeting individuals and households based on data files and available prospect codes.
- Ability to identify priorities and self-direct workflow.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Well-organized, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Must exercise tact and discretion in handling highly confidential information and interacting with Museum donors and prospective donors
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for donor events
- 1-2 years of experience in an Annual Giving environment in a cultural institution is preferred
- Experience with Raisers' Edge database is desirable
- Genuine interest in fundraising, project management, and the Field Museum
- Energetic and patient team player with a proactive "can do" attitude
