- Excellent writing skills, able to write clear, concise, compelling, conversational, and accurate copy.
- Able to work on multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment.
- Ability to improvise in a live broadcast.
- Broad knowledge of national and international events.
- Works in collaboration with linear and digital teams, assignment editors, and production crews.
- Conduct research for interviews and stories.
- Work with the entire digital team to develop and produce special content using the resources and storytelling of the entire newsroom.
- Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as an anchor or correspondent.
- Able to present stories on air in a professional manner during pre-packaged reports and live interviews.
- Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.
- Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player who works well both collaboratively and independently.
