Analytical Services Business Development Manager

 

Description:

The post holder will identify new accounts and target face to face visits. They will also convert RFP (Request For Proposal) into quotation; including logging enquiries, technical evaluation, quotation writing, pricing, positioning to client and closing the deal. Also important will be researching potential new accounts by using market information, databases (i.e. Global Data, LinkedIn etc…), information from the Business Development team and personal knowledge of the market. This is a key Techno-Commercial role within the current BD Team and will report directly to the Director of Business Development.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop the Analytical Services Business in the USA

  • Identify new target accounts for the Souderton Analytical Laboratory
  • Organize face to face visits with prospective accounts in territory
  • Convert RFP to quotation, working closely with other BDs and/or SME
  • Appropriately manage out of scope work throughout the project and keep the contract documents aligned to the actual work for the customer.
  • Review RFQ and ensure that the scope is clearly defined and understood
  • Acknowledge receipt of enquiry to Client or Internal Client
  • Log all enquiries in a timely manner into SalesForce
  • Write entire quotation and submit it to client in the agreed timelines
  • Meet agreed financial targets and report monthly on progress
  • Ensure good communication with key players within the Souderton business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to enhance market recognition

Leverage relationship with Almac Clinical Services (ACS):

  • Understand ACS structure and key accounts distribution/responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Business Development and senior BD personnel
  • Keep excellent communication with each internal account owner in ACS
  • Ensure that purchase orders are recognized in a timely manner to meet monthly and quarterly revenue targets

 

Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients by:

  • Being comfortable discussing and debating on key Analytical topics
  • Providing regular updates on the progress of proposals/feasibility studies
  • Ensuring that clients are handled in an efficient and professional manner
  • Establishing excellent relationships with Almac Operations and BD personnel
  • Establishing and maintaining the provision of high-quality information to clients

Promote Almac Group Connected Offering by:

  • Informing potential clients on the range of services available from Almac
  • Visiting client on their site for a face to face presentation/discussion
  • Attending chosen conferences and events
  • Organizing and coordinating client visits in Souderton (PA), responding effectively and efficiently to all relevant inquiries

 

Qualifications:

Required Experience / Education:

B.S or combination of education and experience

1-5 years experience in a life science

Commercial acumen and desire to win

Confident and Customer driven

Fluency in English Language (written and spoken)

Willingness to travel extensively

Proven professional, customer focused approach

Proven ability to work effectively on own
