Agency Archivist

The Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) turned 50 in 2023 and we have an exciting and exhilarating past to document. Join MCD as the agency archivist where you will gather, organize, and manage historical information. You will develop and maintain a system for determining records management to support the next 50 years! You will use your qualitative research skills to find and preserve historical materials and artifacts for access by the disability community, researchers, and the public. You will work with a compliance mindset and will serve the agency as the technical expert in records management standards. You will lead the effort to document the rich agency history with vendors who might work in document archival technology, or guiding video and audio content development. The focus of the work is statewide and has a particular focus on finding and documenting the rich history of the disability civil rights movement that we know exists in the non-metro area.

Please note this is position is part-time working 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in archiving historical documents, artifacts, and multi-media content to include the following duties:

  • Experience in the development and maintenance of electronic records and filing systems.
  • Project management experience establishing program goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience regarding accessibility standards.
