Advanced Audio Editor & Engineer

Description:

We are actively seeking an exceptionally skilled audio editor/engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will support Christopher Bono in his productions and potentially lead engineer future projects curated by the label. Our current team, consisting of a mix of full-time and part-time younger engineers, is looking for a senior engineer who can provide guidance and bring extensive production, editing, and engineering experience to swiftly address arising issues and efficiently manage sessions.

The majority of your time will be dedicated to editing in Ableton and Pro Tools. Some projects are improvisational and simpler to edit while others are very dense with deeply layered arrangements and tracks with numerous playlists that must be organized and comped into the ideal.

A passion for both types of production techniques and a keen interest in editing are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Editing, Engineering, and production of complex album projects
• Deep knowledge of Mic Techniques, signal flow, and creative processing
• Extensive audio editing, comfortable with minimal supervision
• Equipment maintenance and repair
• Compliance with deadlines and time management
• Willingness to execute multiple tasks, including errands, label research, and management tasks
• Maintenance of the creative flow

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of engineering and production experience
• Advanced skills in Ableton and Pro Tools. We’ve used Ableton primarily over the last 5 years, but still work heavily with Pro Tools for certain projects
• Deep understanding of mic techniques, signal flow, and creative processing
• Technical knowledge of gear; and soldering skills are a huge plus
• Efficiency in engineering is crucial, as sessions can be intense and necessitate thorough preparation and readiness
• Strong troubleshooting abilities for audio equipment and software
• Familiarity with Slack and other business organization software, and/or the ability to quickly learn
• A genuine commitment to one’s work is essential for this role; we are seeking individuals who are serious and passionate about their contributions, as there is minimal room for a casual approach
