Description:
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Administrative Investigators conduct independent, objective administrative and criminal investigations and inquiries, and prepare reports on allegations regarding employee misconduct, unethical behavior, fraud, waste and abuse, gross mismanagement, and other violations of law/policy under the authorities derived from the Inspector General Act of 1978. Administrative Investigators function as the liaison with the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) and other federal investigative agencies, and conduct fraud awareness and prevention briefings to selected NGA audiences. They perform these functions in accordance with Agency and NGA Office of Inspector General (OIG) written guidance and established Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) standards.

1. Advise leadership and investigation officials on significant findings and developments
2.Conduct preliminary inquiries and determine whether complaints have merit and recommend appropriate investigations
3. Research, analyze, and collect investigative data; identify gaps and patterns within investigations; author draft reports
Qualifications Mandatory
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 5. Demonstrated experience in written, and oral communication with drafting reports of investigtions and providing briefs conveying relevant case information details.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.
