Adjunct Graphic Design Instructor

 

Description:

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Visual Communication Design/Graphic Design adjunct instructor (part-time) to collaborate within our large award winning program. Potential candidates are expected to be committed to teaching excellence, interaction with students and active participation in the professional service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be teaching 1-2 classes per semester at the BFA level. Courses might include according to need and qualifications: Typography, Layout, Branding, Web Design, etc.

Required Qualifications

The candidate must meet the same professional, experiential, and scholarly preparation requirements as their full-time counterparts teaching in the same discipline. The potential hire should hold a minimum of a BFA in graphic design plus 4-5 years of current full-time design work experience plus 2 years of teaching experience to be considered. Professional Level skills in the following:

  • Knowledge and experience with Macintosh computers and Adobe Creative Suite software applications
  • Excellent typographic skills demonstrated through professional work
  • Knowledge in emerging technologies within the field
  • Strong conceptual and formal design skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
