Description:

Provide data and reports to facilitate the monitoring and analysis of marketing and financial performance of prospectively insured classes and lines of private business.
What You'll Do:

• Apply intermediate and advanced actuarial techniques to analyze the business and develop rate-level indications based on underwriting data and the subsequent preparation of regulatory filings.

• Process and submit required insurance data reports according to the statistical plan requirements of the various rating organizations for each line of business.

• Perform intermediate to advanced analysis of competing programs' rates and rating structures to assist with competitive pricing decisions in the various lines of business.

• Design and develops statistical actuarial reports.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related fields.

• Successful completion of 3 Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exams. Each additional exam completed may substitute one year of required work experience (prerequisites excluded).

• Actively progressing toward the designation of Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society or the Society of Actuaries

Required Work Experience: Two years of experience in actuarial science.

Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Analyze competing programs to assist with competitive pricing decisions

• Develop actuarial computer models

• Develop reporting for new product types

• Document submissions to state regulatory authorities

• Perform profitability analysis to determine appropriate rates for various lines of business
