Active Directory Engineer

Description:

Oreva Technologies Inc. is hiring an experienced Active Directory Engineer for a hybrid role in Chicago, IL. The candidate will be responsible for Active Directory administration, security management, and infrastructure optimization. This role involves working on GPO management, security audits, hybrid identity management, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Active Directory Administration & Security:

• Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize Active Directory (AD) environments.

• Handle GPO management, migration, and consolidation.

• Perform ACL audits and implement RBAC policies.

• Design and maintain efficient OU structures for large-scale organizations.

🔹 Infrastructure & Automation:

• Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and RHEL server environments.

• Support SolarWinds monitoring, Ansible Automation Platform, and Rubrik backup solutions.

• Ensure compliance with IT security standards (NIST, CIS, etc.).

🔹 Hybrid Identity & Security: (Preferred but not required)

• Work with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and hybrid identity management.

• Implement Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions and AD tiering models.

• Utilize Microsoft Defender for Identity and other security monitoring tools.

• Support large-scale AD transformation projects.

Required Qualifications:

✔ 7+ years of hands-on experience with Active Directory in enterprise environments.
✔ Strong expertise in GPO management, AD security principles, and ACL audits.
✔ Experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and RHEL server.
✔ Knowledge of IT security best practices & compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, etc.).
✔ Experience supporting SolarWinds, Ansible, and Rubrik backup solutions.
✔ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

➕ Experience with Azure AD (Entra ID) and hybrid identity management.
➕ Familiarity with PAM solutions & AD tiering models.
➕ Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Identity & security monitoring tools.
➕ Previous experience in large-scale AD transformation projects or consulting roles.
